AHERO

AHERO connects Veterans through outdoor activities as a means to recover from their physical wounds and psychological trauma to reintegrate with American life.

AHERO (America’s Heroes Enjoying Recreation Outdoors) connects Veterans with patriotic members of local communities by organizing outdoor events and social activities. Our goal is to heal the physical and psychological wounds of war and military service by:

  • Introducing Veterans to resources and programs available to them to increase their overall quality of life
  • Developing an informal support network of Veterans across the country
  • Encouraging constructive communication and engagement
  • Boosting morale

Casting Freedom

The program aims to send combat wounded veterans, veterans, and Gold Star Family members enough fishing equipment to get out on the water. We help by providing the therapeutic benefits of the outdoors.

Once a month a combat wounded veteran or Gold Star family member will receive a generous gift allowing them to experience the outdoors.

Our goal is to provide this gift once a month to those who apply for the program. We also plan to send them on fishing trips with our team members and pro anglers.

We invite you to lend a hand, a little goes a long way!

Camp Hero Kentucky

Camp Hero provides 3-4 day getaways for wounded veterans and first responders, to allow them to be able to enjoy the tranquility of the Appalachian Mountain outdoors, while being able to talk and fellowship with other wounded heroes.

Cast and Hook Fishing

The goal of Cast & Hook Fishing is to provide a better quality of life for 1st Responders and Veterans that are struggling with PTSD. We do so by providing them with healthy options to cope with mental health and job-related stressors. The objective of this project is to decrease the negative effects of PTSD within our participants by providing them with healthy options to decompress and manage stress rather than turning to unhealthy strategies and addictive substances which are detrimental to their health and wellness. We will accomplish this by providing our participants with free beach, wilderness, adventure and recreational therapy.

Back Country Hunters and Anglers

The Armed Forces Initiative introduces the military community to public lands and waters by providing outdoor adjunct therapy to enhance their mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being while providing them a new mission as conservationists. We host events for members of the military community all over the United States and Canada teaching participants how to hunt, fish, camp, hike, and recreate outdoors through the lense of conservation.  Not just how to hunt but why to hunt, and how to use their voice as veterans or active duty service members to ensure the continued existence of wild places available to every American.

Vets R Us Inc

To improve the quality of life and promote healing and self-care – one veteran, active duty service member or first responder, one event at a time.

Providing, veterans, active duty military, first responders & their families opportunities to live healthier and more fulfilling lives. We do this by connecting our American Hereos with others that have been through similar situations providing them with an avenue to talk, share, and know that they are not alone in their everyday struggles.
