Flyin’ Heroes

THE EXPERIENCE

Participants will experience a unique guided float trip down the Pere Marquette, Muskegon, and/or the White River located in West Michigan. The program also offers fishing trips on inland lakes throughout West Michigan. Each participant will be instructed on the basic techniques of fly and or light tackle fishing. Fishing activities are held from within a drift boat, on a riverbank or physically wading into the river depending on the comfort level of each participant.

Fishing with Vets

Fishing with Vets is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide veterans, both active and retired, with an opportunity to fish some of the mid-west’s premier fishing destinations. The veterans are paired up with guides who are some of Midwest’s best fishermen/women. The main goal of our events is to create life-long memories and friendships for our veterans.

Fishing for Life

Fishing For Life has numerous programs and events through which we reach out to youth and families in our community. Each of our programs have been carefully designed to be a positive experience for you, whether the the event is large or small.

Examples of our events include: Holes for Heroes, Lake Events (our summer and winter lake fishing events), High C’sFishing Camps for youth, Fish Fair, our Military R&R ministry to wounded warriors and their families, and our Deep C’s Men’s Club. All of our events are designed to not only introduce us to one another, but find ways to deepen our relationships with you as well.

Fishing for Freedom (Quincy)

Fishing For Freedom – Quincy is a no entry fee bass, catfish, and crappie tournament that pairs our Warriors (active Military and Veterans) with our Boaters (professional anglers, avid tournament fishermen, fishing guides, and local outdoorsmen) for a fun day of fishing on our local fisheries. Fishing For Freedom – Quincy cannot give back all the lost time away from the great outdoors during deployment, but we can give back a weekend. We do that by providing our Warriors with a weekend full of entertainment and enjoyment of the great outdoors with their fellow Veterans and active duty personnel, as well as the general public. This event is designed to provide our Warriors with events that range from a fish fry, trapshooting, archery, live music, a Heroes Banquet, and a day of fun tournament fishing on the Mighty Mississippi River or Mark Twain Lake. We also have private lake(s) where we take our Warriors who cannot easily fish from a boat to ensure their safety and well-being.

Fishing Community Org

We will bring together the generation that has come before us, our veterans and heroes who need us to stand up and support them today and the younger generation who are learning and growing into the promise of tomorrow.

Fishin’ Buddies 4 Veterans

We are a network of veterans and anglers joining forces to combat a national epidemic, suicide among our Nation’s veterans and military personnel. Our goal is to help them heal through fishing and support them through their good and bad times. A few of us here are living proof of the positive effects that fishing has had on our lives. This has provided the inspiration needed to spread the word. Fishing provides peace, serenity and escape from the everyday hustle of life and those hidden wounds many of our Nation’s veterans carry around. We are trading our pills for reels and going from battle buddies to fishing buddies. Whether you came here for help or to help, we welcome you with open tackle boxes. We got your six; nobody is left behind. Relax, reflect, rejuvenate, recover, and restore. Ready-Aim-Cast

Fish on For Freedom

Fish on For Freedom is a charity, not for profit event, that will be held in our home waters of Ludington as a token of thanks from our community to the men and women that have sacrificed so much making this nation what it is today. Although a big part of the event is the activity of going out fishing on the waters of Lake Michigan, we are also designing this event to be about the camaraderie of our guests spending time together and the support our community can show towards the military veterans.

The fishing event itself will take place with a tournament style. Once fishing wraps up in the early afternoon, all the participating boats will gather outside the Ludington pier heads to proceed back into the harbor together. This will give community members a wonderful chance to line the Ludington harbor and welcome back the participants and thank them for their sacrifices for our country.
