Disabled Outdoorsmen Utah

Disabled Outdoorsmen creates an inclusive outdoors program for people with disabilities. Our main focus is to deliver an unforgettable experience that was previously not possible. Helping people take their minds off of daily struggles is what drives us to serve you.

Disabled Outdoorsmen USA

Weston Jenkins was driving home after a day of hunting with his cousin TJ when a name and idea popped into his head: Disabled Outdoorsmen USA.

Weston said TJ is the main inspiration behind Disabled Outdoorsmen and he wants to give other people like TJ the chance to explore the outdoors. His vision for DOUSA started out as a simple notion to make people who have disabilities feel like they can do anything they want to do while putting aside their worries and stress concerning their situation. In the midst of planning, organizing and networking for DOUSA, Weston has also graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing and Sales for Texas State University. Weston is now a real estate agent under Texas Landmen.

While there are some organizations that do what Weston’s does, most are focused on one group of individuals, such as Wounded Warriors. Weston wants his organization to be as inclusive as possible, whether it be an amputee or person with down-syndrome, he wants to help people make the impossible into a possible.

Operation Phoenix Outdoors

Our mission is to give back to our nation and community heroes by using the outdoors as therapy to create mental health breaks. We do this by bringing Military, Veterans, First Responders and their families on hunting and fishing trips to facilitate fellowship, friendships and healing…ultimately enable conversation and relationships that help combat the 22 veteran suicides a day. Our hope is that we help ease the transition from military to civilian life, reduce stress, reconnect families and build friendship/healthy relationships to reduce the number of veteran suicides, alcohol dependency and broken families. Additionally, breakdown barriers/physical limitations that prevent heroes from enjoying the outdoors. Finally, bring heroes on their last hunting/fishing trips “Bucket list trips” due to terminal illness…give them their last great memory of the outdoors.

S.O.N.S. of Lake Erie

The S.O.N.S. (Save Our Native Species) of Lake Erie Fishing Club is an active organization of nearly 3000 members. Established in 1981, we are dedicated to the improvement of fishing on Lake Erie and its Pennsylvania tributaries. The organization has supported regulations that promote the growth and health of the Lake Erie fishery. We are a member of the Cooperative Nursery Branch of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. Through this alliance we have established a fish hatchery that annually produces and stocks approximately 1 million Walleye and 2 million Yellow Perch into Presque Isle Bay. Steelhead and Brown Trout are also produced in the hatchery. The S.O.N.S. also participate in the P.F.B.C. adopt-a-stream program. We were active in the clean up and stocking of Cascade creek, a previously polluted stream which was a receptor of industrial out fall. The Club, partnered with the P.F.B.C., has annually built and placed appropriate structures in the waters of Presque Isle Bay which provide habitat for the fish that call these waters their home.
The S.O.N.S. have stood in the forefront to support free public access to the waters of Presque Isle Bay and Lake Erie. As a result of the clubs encouragement, ordinances and regulations have been enacted in the City of Erie that provide for free public access in all new developments on Presque Isle Bay

Veterans Path to Hope Outdoors

Veterans Path to Hope Outdoors was created to support the mission of transforming and enriching lives through hosting recreational outdoor activities for military veterans, active-duty service members, and their families.

Our program embraces each veteran’s unique barriers and challenges, utilizing evidenced-based interventions to meet their needs and goals. The Outdoors program strives to help each service member through their healing journey by enhancing physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and leisure skills. Our goal is to offer necessary support in creative ways to boost quality of life for our service members and their families!

Maj Steven Roy Andrews Fishing Outreach Program

The Maj. Steven Roy Andrews Fishing Outreach Program Inc. is a 501(c) 3 non-profit program that was started in 2008 out of a need to help veterans and at risk and needy kids. The purpose of this program is to get veterans and kids hooked on fishing. For veterans it gives them a way to deal with issues from their service, be it mental or physical ones. Kids find a new hobby they can get involved with and make better choices in life as opposed to hanging around on the block and getting into trouble.
