Alaska’s Healing Hearts year round nationwide outdoor programs include hunting, fishing, and other outdoor recreational programs for our nations brave wounded warriors, these activities are termed “social reintegration” by therapists. They are not just the clinical rehabilitation programs which injured military personnel usually participate in; they also provide disabled Veterans with hope that they can live active and productive lives. Based on our own experiences these programs help bolster confidence and self esteem, while serving as a venue for them to assimilate with the public. Thanks to donations from people like yourself and corporate sponsors we are able to continue these programs at virtually no cost to our wounded heroes, Thank you.

The Wheelin’ Sportsmen program began in October 2000 as the NWTF recognized the need to help people with mobility impairments enjoy the outdoors by participating in hunting and shooting sports.
Wheelin’ Sportsmen events provide participants an opportunity they may not be able to have on their own due to the lack of hunting land access, lack of the knowledge of how to return to the field after an injury or lack of necessary assistance.
Oftentimes, the knowledge and experience gained at one of our events allows the participants to continue hunting on their own throughout the year.
Camp Patriot’s mission: CHALLENGE – CHANGE & LEAD Life Changing Adventures, Mentoring, Veteran Leadership Program
Camp Patriot exists to take combat wounded & disabled U.S. Veterans on outdoor adventures.
The task is monumental. Today, there are over 2.3 million wounded & disabled veterans in the U.S. The number of disabled men and women veterans is growing with each day, as the “war on terror” continues. The suicide rate for veterans is 22+ per day. We need to reach out to the veterans now & with a strong arm!
These brave veterans sacrificed so much in order to ensure our safety and freedom. All of these veterans had dreams about the future, but many of those dreams were lost due to injuries suffered in the line of duty. Outdoor activities that they hoped to do in the future have vanished due to their disability. We want to thank these veterans by showing them that with the right help, they can again enjoy the great outdoors.
The Purpose of Mission FISH., FISHING, INTERACTING SHARING & HEALING is to organize and plan fishing day trips and provide FISH therapy for PTSD and TBI for Veterans, Active duty service members, 1st responders and Gold Star families.
