The Veteran Hunters

The Veteran Hunters Canada Ltd is a non-profit organization operated by volunteers who are retired Canadian Forces Veterans and First Responders, who themselves have gone through their own PTSI journeys. Their goal is to serve their fellow Veterans and First Responders with PTSI, by providing peer support and therapy gained through outdoor adventures.

Participants in our programs acknowledge that being in the outdoors is extremely therapeutic, especially when surrounded by fellow Soldiers, Law Enforcement Officers, Paramedics, Firefighters and Corrections Officers.

Veterans to Hunters

Our mission with the Veterans to Hunters program is simple and that’s to get Canadian veterans out hunting. From train and bus tickets, tags, outfitter fees, or camp-dues to established camps looking to strengthen their ranks with new members, we are going to be rite beside Veterans to ensure they can enjoy what Ontario has to offer with a smooth transition to its rich hunting heritage.

Hooks for Heroes Canada

We are a group for anglers that are willing to take servicemen and women such as Military, Police, Paramedics, EMT, Fire, Rescue, etc. out for a day of fishing. We spread the word of our appreciation for what these men and women do for our communities and our country. We raise awareness for the struggles some of these people face on a daily basis and the positive effects that a day of fishing can have. If you are heading out fishing, and have an extra spot and rod for one of our heroes, post here and invite them. If you are one of our heroes, post here and ask to be taken out fishing! This is a thank you for all you have done for us!

Heroes Mending on the Fly – Canada

Heroes Mending On The Fly Canada (HMOTF) is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly-tying, fly-fishing and associated activities including education and outings.

Healing Patriots

Healing Patriots is designed and dedicated to helping injured Veterans and First Responders find opportunities to go fishing with a variety of experienced fishermen across the Midwest of the United States and Canada. The goal is to help restore confidence in our Veterans and First Responders so they can get out on their own to further develop these therapeutic opportunities and develop opportunities to still serve in their community.

A multiple day Fishing Expedition or Ice Fishing Expedition with Healing Patriots will help Veterans and First Responders kick start a path to a positive and healthy lifestyle, but with the support of fellow comrades dedicated to working with them. The ultimate goal will be to help educate them not only in the sport of fishing, but to provide assistance with resources that are available to help them and their families as they transition from military and public service to civilian life.

Additionally, we strive to help our heroes overcome the challenges related to physical or mental health concerns and utilize educational benefits for career opportunities.

Time on the Water

Time on the Water was created with one goal in mind: to thank our Military, first responders, and health care professionals for their sacrifice by providing an all-expenses-paid five-day fishing trip to Lake of the Woods near Sioux Narrows, Ontario. If you know someone that has served their country that would love a fishing trip, or if you would like to sponsor a veteran, please contact us right away.

We work hard year-round to raise money to cover the costs of these trips so that we can offer this great experience at absolutely no cost. There are no hardship requirements that our brave men and women must meet in order to participate in one of our excellent fishing trips. We try to serve as many people as we can. You can share your story or just talk fishing, either way, you are welcome.

Wounded Warriors Weekend

In August 2012, the town of Nipawin and the North East region of Saskatchewan opened their arms and welcomed 112 Wounded Warriors from Canada and the United States for a weekend of fishing, golfing, outdoor fun, musical performances, great food and lots of socializing.

The first Saskatchewan **”WOUNDED WARRIORS WEEKEND”** was a transforming weekend for everyone, those who were wounded and those who were there to help. The healing of damaged souls was visible as we saw how nature, music, compassion and support refreshed, nurtured and strengthened the delegates. Friendships were struck; families bonded; networks were created.

This was our time to give back. It was our intent, privilege and honour to show our troops and their families that they were not alone, that their sacrifices have not gone unnoticed that we stand by them, feel for their losses, and are indebted to them now and forever for their honorable service to our countries.
**Please join us once again as we present:**

WOUNDED WARRIORS WEEKEND 2013
AUGUST 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th

When we will welcome 120 Wounded Warriors from Canada, USA, the UK and Australia. Let us continue to show them that we are honoured by their sacrifices and they will always be remembered as heroes by those of us here at home.
