Fish on For Freedom is a charity, not for profit event, that will be held in our home waters of Ludington as a token of thanks from our community to the men and women that have sacrificed so much making this nation what it is today. Although a big part of the event is the activity of going out fishing on the waters of Lake Michigan, we are also designing this event to be about the camaraderie of our guests spending time together and the support our community can show towards the military veterans. THE EXPERIENCE Participants will experience a unique guided float trip down the Pere Marquette, Muskegon, and/or the White River located in West Michigan. The program also offers fishing trips on inland lakes throughout West Michigan. Each participant will be instructed on the basic techniques of fly and or light tackle fishing. Freedom’s Finest Outdoors is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization established in 2013. The organization is led by disabled veterans and outdoor enthusiasts to fulfill the need of connecting veterans with the outdoors and to inspire and promote all aspects of healing. We take pride in the relationships we form with other veterans we meet as we embark on different adventures. Operation Injured Soldiers is a tax exempt, nonprofit organization founded in 2005. We provide recreational opportunities (free of charge) to wounded military veterans of all eras as a thank you for their service. The events we provide aid in the recovery from physical and emotional injuries sustained during conflict deployments. Mission Statement Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings. Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Maryland. WE STARTED THE VETERANS HUNT IN 2005. IT WAS THE FIRST YEAR OF TAILS-A-WAGGIN' ACRES HUNTING PRESERVE AND WE INVITED TWO DISABLED (AGENT ORANGE ) VIETNAM VETERANS OUT ON A FREE PHEASANT HUNT NOT KNOWING HOW MUCH THEY WOULD APPRECIATE IT. THEIR REACTIONS AND APPRECIATION STARTED US THINKING ABOUT THE SECOND YEAR, AND THIS TIME WE INVITED 6 DISABLED VETERANS . WE DIDN’T KNOW THIS WAS GOING TO TURN INTO GODS PLAN FOR OUR PRESERVE, BUT BY THE THIRD YEAR CALLS STARTED COMING IN AS WORD GOT OUT THAT WE HELPED DISABLED VETERANS AND ANY HANDICAPPED PERSON GET OUT PHEASANT HUNTING .
